In May 2014, the Huron Valley Central Labor Council (HVCLC) gathered surveys from 31 candidates for political and judicial office. We read their answers and then we met with each of them over two evenings. Based on this evidence, the HVCLC’s Committee on Political Education (COPE) made recommendations that were discussed and voted on at the HVCLC’s monthly Delegates meeting in June.
In this way, we came up with the Primary endorsements, previously released, and the following recommendations to the MI AFL-CIO for state and national candidates who do not face primary challengers.
8th District Eric Shertzing
18th District Rebekah Warren
22nd District Shari Pollesch
State House of Representatives
52nd District Gretchen Driskell
53rd District Jeff Irwin
54th District David Rutledge
55th District Adam Zemke
University of Michigan Regents
